The European Centre for Nature Conservation is an independent organization working for the conservation and sustainable use of Europe’s nature, biodiversity and landscapes. ECNC stimulates cooperation between science, policy and economy for the sake of biodiversity and people in Europe. It does so by providing sound scientific expertise in support of governmental policies and by promoting the integration of biodiversity considerations into other sectors of society. In its approach, ECNC combines vision with practical approaches and applicable expertise.

It is to facilitate the achievement of this task that the MEDUSA network was conceived, and the MEDUSA database is being developed
SCNAT Swiss Biodiversity Forum of the Swiss Academy of Sciences
The Forum’s objective is to substantially contribute to the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity. To reach this objective the Biodiversity Forum advocates biodiversity research in Switzerland and makes available up-to-date knowledge on biological diversity to conservation practitioners, policy makers, teachers and the public.
